How are you able to provide clean water for one year?
We’ve formed a great partnership with Generosity.org to provide clean water to people in need all around the globe. With the help of Generosity.org, your purchase(s) will aid in the creation of water projects in developing countries. Based on the average output and lifespan of a water well, and the average number of people each well can comfortably support, we were able to determine the percentage of your purchase that will provide clean water to one individual for one year.
My Shea Butter Cream was melted when I received it. What should I do?
Don’t panic. Our Shea Butter Cream is made with natural butters and oils. On really hot days, it's completely normal for the cream to arrive melted. To remedy this, pop the jar in your refrigerator for 30-60 minutes and the cream will re-solidify. This phenomenon is similar to how coconut oil melts in a warm room and re-solidifies when placed in a cool room.
What is Zinc Oxide?
Zinc Oxide forms naturally as the mineral Zincite and is typically used in sunscreens, cosmetics, baby diaper and rash creams. The mineral acts as a layer of protection and is used to reduce irritation, inhibit bacterial growth, heal and protect the skin.
Why do we use Non-nano Zinc Oxide?
We use non-nano zinc oxide in our deodorant cream. Non-nano refers to the size of the zinc oxide particles. The size range of non-nano particles is 100 nanometers (nm) or greater, while “nano” zinc oxide is typically 10-20 nm in size.
Currently, there are some concerns that nanoparticles may enter the blood stream and cause adverse affects. At O&O, we strive to only use ingredients that are thoroughly tested and proven to be safe for human use, so we opted against using nanoparticles in any of our products.
What is Magnesium Hydroxide?
Magnesium is a naturally occurring mineral; it is most commonly known as milk of magnesia. We use magnesium hydroxide in our deodorant because it inhibits bacterial growth and reduces underarm wetness.
What is Castile soap?
It has a fancy name, but don't be intimidated. Castile soap originated from the Castile region of Spain (hence the name). They are made with vegetable oils (most commonly olive oil) instead of using animals fats. Castile soaps are versatile in their use and are a safe alternative to shampoos, body washes, hand soaps, dish and laundry detergents.
